Most Americans Won’t Buy an Electric Car Unless They Get the ‘Gas Station Experience’
If the U.S. wants to win the electric car war, it needs to aggressively build out a charging networkthemobilist.medium.com

Needing always to be right. You won’t always be right. The odds aren’t on your side. Disrespecting our views along your quest for an ego boost will leave us asking for the bill.

Not being able to laugh at yourself. A charming quality in a guy is humility. No one is perfect, and if you can’t admit when you mess-up and learn to move past it, the relationship will feel too fragile.
Being too into yourself. Confidence is great, but please don’t confuse that with a big ego. You don’t have to boast about yourself for us to like you. Just be genuine, tell us about your passions, and don’t forget to be interested in what we have to say (unless you’re not, in which case, why are you dating?)
Against that backdrop, it’s difficult to imagine any single substance replacing the commanding stature that oil has held, both good and bad. But looming large among the resources and technologies vying for such a place is the advanced battery and the electrified economy it will create. Gigantic new fortunes will be earned over the coming years and decades in the businesses of manufacturing superbatteries, creating electric vehicles, and mining the metals and minerals that go into them.Without accepting that we don’t control most things in life, we can never have lasting happiness. Getting concerned with things outside of our control is a habit. For example, today you might be celebrating the outcome of the US election. In a few months, you might get worked up because the issues you care about didn’t immediately improve. You wish things would change faster. And so the cycle goes. It’s good to practice indifference to things that don’t matter to your happiness. It’s a stark contrast with another day I had last week. I was talking to another friend about this COVID thing. I got a bit carried away. “They just got to shut down the whole world for 3 weeks and we’re done!” That didn’t happen earlier this year, and it’s obviously not going to happen now. I kept that negative energy with me during the day and guess what I did? Not much. I just consumed more useless information. I didn’t create anything useful that day.

What does actually matter to your happiness? Good friendships, work that you enjoy, reading books that make you think, walking in nature, working out, watching a good movie — you know this. Last Saturday, I woke up, did some reading and writing, had brunch with my family, then went for a walk together, came back, did some more writing and reading, had dinner, and watched a movie in the evening. It was a good day.

The challenge with unstructured data is that it needs to be preprocessed into structured data to apply statistical methods to it and derive the information contained in raw data.

Yet, in the personal, commercial, and national rivalries to dominate this new era, are we watching the unfolding of a new kind of war — a commercial war between the U.S., Germany, China, and possibly others?

We know that Data Analysis has evolved beyond its original expected extent and this has happened because of the rapid development of technology, generation of more and bigger data, aggressive usage of quantitative analysis across a variety of disciplines.

When I mention my views in conversation, people often comment well, without a standard, how would we understand each other? Firstly, if you can understand me and I can understand you, what does it matter if we don’t follow the same rules? Secondly, most people speak in a variety of different ways even without trying. Multilingualism, multidialectalism, and patience with others are central to an empowered society. Anticipating one standard limits our interactions with each other and promotes misunderstanding. Thirdly, though I believe we should investigate and problematize all of the ways in which we are governed and govern ourselves, I am not advocating for a lack of guidelines specific to the ways one can learn a language in regards to grammar, syntax, etc. All dialects have “rules,” still. I am advocating, particularly in speech, that we demote classism, elitism, and racism. There cannot be a “correct” way to speak in an anti-fascist society.

Jesus actually commands believers not to share their faith with people who do not wish to hear it. In Matthew 7:6, Jesus says, “Don’t reduce holy mysteries to slogans. In trying to be relevant, you’re only being cute and inviting sacrilege.”

Bad hygiene. When you meet someone new, first impressions are everything. If you smell bad or look like you slept in the clothes you’re wearing, it’s a major turn-off. That’s not superficial. It’s simply sanitary.

I believe the correct way to speak is whichever way gets your point across. Anti-fascist language is language that promotes and accepts differences. We should empower ourselves and others to talk however we want to — however our identities and experiences lead us to — instead of trying to meet a white supremacist standard. We do not need to justify our speech choices. We need education systems, educators, employers, media, and literary texts that promote and accept language differences without question. This could look like classes where instructors do not grade grammar or syntax but focus on the expression of thought. This could look like more people in positions of power using their native dialects. This could look like the end of speech-policing online, in academia, and at home. This could look like more positive representations of diverse speech patterns. Who governs our speech? Who should have power over it if not us?

What I learned from Stoicism is that time is your most valuable resource. Maybe it’s nice to know about everything in the world, but there’s no way we can actually use all the information we consume. So these pursuits are largely a waste of time. I will never get back the time I spent hopping from one Wikipedia page to the next one. We all need to be more conscious of how we spend our time. Most of us know this — we just don’t live it. We squander our time like it’s nothing. We read articles about how bad the world is, we browse the social media profiles of our ex-partners, we watch TV shows we’re not even interested in just to “kill time.” Why kill something so precious? That’s what should really upset you. Not some insignificant message you read on Twitter from some person you don’t even know. We’re all so quick to get triggered by others. Why do we feel the need to respond to every single thing that we run into? We don’t control what other people say or do.
Otherwise known as the ‘golden rule’, this is perhaps one of the most famous commands of Jesus. Do to others as you would have them do to you. (Matthew 7:12). Or, to put it simply: Treat others how you’d like to be treated. Can you imagine how the world would change if we all lived by this principle?
Put all your financial documents in a single Drive folder, with subfolders for “Just Me” and “Shared.” Then create a Doc or Sheet that acts as a table of contents for your shared folder. Use this Doc to map out what each file does, how to use it, and just as crucially, what not to change or edit.
Too often, linguists and scholars (myself included) try to explain why language differences should be accepted and normalized. For example, you can use any dialect to express any school of thought, a person with an advanced degree may still use AAV to communicate, dialects are not solely determined by region, and all dialects are governed by their own rules. These are valid reasons why we should de-stigmatize different speech patterns. However, we do not need these reasons, as we do not have to prove to anyone or ourselves why we should talk in whatever way we feel like. We don’t have to spend time justifying something that needs no justification.
It is comforting to know that Jesus invites us to come to freely come to God and present our request to him. In Matthew 7:7–8, Jesus says, “Don’t bargain with God. Be direct. Ask for what you need.”Now, the major proportion of this generated data is unstructured i.e. data with no pre-defined model/structure. For example, images are a collection of pixels, textual data are sequences of characters with no particular pre-defined storage model, and clickstreams from a user’s actions on a web app. It’s so important to only focus on what you control. Everyone seems to talk about that these days, which is great because we all need those types of reminders. But I also feel like I’m constantly bombarded with useless information, which neutralizes those good reminders. This morning I saw something about Bitcoin, and then I spent the next thirty minutes following one link after the other. I started reading about the history of money, but by the end, I was getting lost on Wikipedia. How often does this happen to you? You start with watching a video, then you look something up, and soon you’re down a rabbit hole of useless information.
